Where the darkness rules in absence of the light.
The underbelly is home to the shadows, creatures borne from the dark heart.
Long ago the armies of heaven and earth forced the shadows deep underground.
The king of shadows, who failed to protect his people, left after their condemnation, never to be seen again.
And so his people lived without him.

Joan, The Worlds Greatest Paladin
Joan prefers to stab first and ask questions later.
Joan is in the underbelly to do one thing:
Kill the King and the shadows that serve him.
So when her armor and holy light disappear upon arriving in the underbelly she's more than a little peeved.
But, since adaptability is a Paladin's greatest strength, she takes Mouthwash and Erich prisoner to serve as her guides in this new weird world.
She's prone to fits of violence, brash, a blow hard, a try-hard, and down right rude.
She's especially nonplussed about having to work with shadows, her sworn enemies, in order to kill the king of the underbelly, her even archer enemy.
She's the teams powerhouse, if it can be cut. She'll cut it.
Mouthwash, The D.I.Y. Slime.
The inner machinations of Mouthwash's mind are an enigma.
Mouthwash is naught but impulse, a hatred for the tenant landlord system , and a crippling fear of boredom. So, when Joan falls from the sky and demands to be taken on a trip to kill the King, he does so without a second thought.
A trip across the underbelly with his best friend and an angry stabby human will be anything but boring.
Mouthwash's amorphous Form helps him in and outside of battle changing his look and abilities to suit the situation at hand.
Erich, The Sack With Legs
Erich the only reason the group is making any progress.
Erich is the brains of the group as well as Mouthwash's best friend. He takes an interest in Joan's quest due, in part to keep Mouthwash alive, and to see if the king is out there somewhere. He hopes he can convince Joan to not kill the king if they do end up finding him.
His knowledge of human and shadow history keep the team pointed in the right direction, and his intermediate knowledge of soul-work make him a great asset in a fight.
