Dane Gatsby takes a lot for granted. He's one of the best players in the ICL. his near super human reaction times, and his impeccable piloting ability make him an unstoppable force on the ground or in his frame. He has absolutely let this go to his head, to the point where he regularly underestimates his opponents. On top of that he’s a slave to his instincts, if it feels good he’ll probably do it, even if its terrible for him. This applies to food, relationships, just about everything. His confidence and hedonism all stem from the fact he survived as a child combatant in the second war on mars. His guiding philosophy being “If I survived that, I can survive this”.to a deeper extent he thinks he has to live the best life possible since all the people he outlived couldn't. His zen demeanor has given him a mythic status within the ICL and is juxtaposed against other popular players who have bombastic personalities. He keeps to himself, maintaining a small circle of friends (Just Jessica and Ken) that he cares for deeply. Saving up enough money to buy a moon and be left alone is his one big ambition. Dane serve as a look at the eccentricities that some of the best players in the war games get to indulge in because of their score.
